One of the simplest ways to revamp your home is to change curtain styles or colors at every change of season. You do not have to spend a lot of money on major renovations to brighten up your interiors, with just a few touches and accents, you can already change the overall look of your living room or bedroom. Curtains are not just used for decorative purposes, it also provide a sense of privacy to your family. Choosing the kind of curtain to use should strike a balance between practical and decorative needs of a room.
In places where there is constant sunlight, sheer curtains are a preferred choice. It provides a certain amount of privacy from the outside yet it let daylight in to save on lighting. Sheer or semi-sheer curtain can be kept closed but it will still provide enough light to the room. Other popular materials are silk and satin, but voile is also a favorite because of its light woven cotton fabric. You can go for light to bright colors to allow as much light as possible into the room. But if you like, you can also layer sheer curtain to control the brightness in a room. They also go great with other window treatments such as blackout curtains to darken a room or insulate it during colder months.
